london baby

~

London is awfully soon and this post is in hope the weather stays nice! Hopefully we will not need what is in my next illustration (which is painted in gouache) because I don’t own any wellies and the only shoes I own are cloth and useless. This means I can only go out in the sunshine, so rain rain stay away! Can’t wait for London now, even more people are coming and new faces too so it should be fun! See you all soon.

1 week!

~

1 week to go til London and New Designers. I’m very very excited now and can’t wait to sightsee. I can’t wait to get away for a bit and maybe find some inspiration in the big smoke! I was looking through photos of Paris and Indigo today and I want to go back there too! Well it won’t be anytime soon but I’m going back one day! Here’s some random pieces of my work from second year. It was based on birds (obviously) but also I was influenced by old envelopes and letters and the excitement of getting packages in the post! I also made some bird boxes! Tigerprint/Hallmark for Marks and Spencers thought the blue birds in the bottom corner were photographs! They aren’t, it was all painted in gouache except for the obvious collage bits… Bye for now!

clink…

~

So it appears my fear of hostels has been over-ridden by the excitement of staying in the Clink Hostel. Oh yes, I never thought I would say this but I am looking forward to our 5 day stay in the Big City. This Clink Hostel sounds interesting! We’re going to be staying in an old Courthouse/Prison and it’s in Kings Cross! When we get to there I’m going to be very touristy and pose in front of obvious things (big lions…)!! See you all at New Designers, good luck!x

Have a drawing! (Minor Project – I really need to start something new and stop procrastinating)

I now have no space in my bedroom (as it is filled with work and accumulated junk from the past three years at CCAD). I’ve been trying to find spaces for little bits and bobs that I like but it still looks like a bombs hit it! Here are some (rubbish quality) camera phone images! Will add more later when my bedroom starts to resemble a bedroom again!

Here are some clocks that I made in 2nd Year, they worked and everything!

Heres the character from the earlier post stuck to my wall next to a teacup I made! It is now a tealight holder!

After a day of unsuccessful searching for a hotel to stay in for New Designers I have given up. I think I’m going to be a loner and pay for a hotel all on my billy lonesome; After seeing ‘Hostel’ (Tarantino) I don’t plan to stay anywhere where I could be bunking with a serial killer. Well that isn’t my main issue, my main issue is having to have shared bathrooms. I need my bathroom privacy! Here is an EXCELLENT artist I adore : Olena Shmahalo. Her work is fantastic, she has so many different talents!

crosswords

~

Oh how I love crosswords! So anyway, got a few mini job offers, not like actual employment – (boo hoo, someone please employ me). I’ve been asked to do a few canvassy paintings for houses etc and also design a business card for a Security company. So this weekend has been filled with research! Really need to book New Designers but I am oh so poor :( Think my mam has offered to pay for London though so, phew, a weight’s off my chest. It’s quite late now but I still haven’t designed my stepdads / dads fathers day cards. Bah! Anyway, mini update over, over and out!

grand!

~

An interesting evening at work to say the least! Today the weather was weird, but I enjoyed it all the same! Here is a painting I did for my Minor Project that I didn’t use. Not usually my style as most of the time I prefer to work realist, but hey ho I like it! I might work more like this now I have the freedom of not being judged and marked by examiners! Apparently this character looks like me, though I don’t see it! Shrugs! Night night x

BONSOIR!

~

Second blog of the day – You can tell it’s Sunday! I was doing some redecorating (ooo new layout!) and I realised I hadn’t posted my favourite design from my Final Major Project! Shock Horror! So… here you go! Going to buy a nice new sketchbook tomorrow so I can start some new drawings etc! Night x

BLAH

~

Had a bit of a hectic weekend! Friday I worked at an embroidery and print shop called Altered Images (formally Kameleon) in Hartlepool’s Enterprise Centre. Was quite fun actually, did some heat transfer pressing making tshirts for hen nights etc. Bit strange but enjoyed it! Got my business cards, and they look pretty cool! Went bowling a few days ago, and played Quazar…. also fun! Weird but fun, we were all sweating after 15 minutes of running about shooting eachother. I WON. I think that was down to the fact my vest was broke though!

Need to organize going to Hallmark after New Designers! Anyway, sorry for the lack of new work, so here’s an old concept page from my sketchbook! Bonsoir!x
